The Deputy Director serves as the second-in-command to the Director of Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and as a key clinical leaderfor the cancer center and health system. Working closely with the Director and senior leadership team, the Deputy Director is responsible for advancing the integration of oncology clinical care, clinical research, and cancer center priorities across VCUHealth and Massey.

The Deputy Director serves as a critical liaison between the cancercenter and health system leadership, ensuring alignment of strategic, operational, and growth initiatives across the cancerenterprise. The role provides executive oversight for the cancerservice line, clinical trials enterprise, and disease working groups, fostering collaboration among physicians, researchers,administrators, and health system leaders to enhance patient care,expand access to innovative therapies, and strengthen Massey`sposition as a leading comprehensive cancer center.

The Deputy Director will identify opportunities to advance clinical and translational programs, accelerate the translation ofdiscoveries into patient care, and support the continued growth andimpact of Massey`s multidisciplinary cancer programs throughout theregion.

• Serves as a key partner and extension of the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Director and provides executive leadership for clinical and operational priorities across the cancerenterprise.
• Acts as a primary interface between Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and VCU Health leadership to ensure alignment of cancercenter goals with health system strategy, operations, and growth initiatives.
• Provides strategic oversight of the cancer service line,including efforts to enhance quality, access, patient experience,program development, and clinical growth.
• Leads and coordinates disease working groups to strengthenmultidisciplinary care delivery, clinical research participation,and collaboration across oncology specialties.
• Oversees the clinical trials enterprise, partnering with clinical, research, and administrative leaders to expand accrual,improve trial activation and performance, and increase patient access to innovative therapies.
• Works closely with the Director, Associate Directors, Program Leaders, and health system leaders to advance Massey's strategic priorities and achieve institutional goals.
• Facilitates the integration of clinical care, clinical research,translational science, and population health initiatives across thecancer center and health system.
• Plays a significant role in the recruitment, retention, and development of outstanding clinical and physician-scientistfaculty.
• Leads key strategic initiatives as assigned by the Director,including development of action plans, performance metrics, and accountability measures for short- and long-term objectives.
• Collaborates with cancer service line leaders and operational stakeholders to strengthen oncology infrastructure and supportprogrammatic growth across the health system.
• Partners with the Director in the development of Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) strategy and renewal efforts, with particular attention to demonstrating excellence and integration acrossclinical and research programs.
