Job Summary
We are seeking to recruit a Butler Assistant to join our growing team at Iniala Harbour House. Reporting to the Head Butler, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering a highly personalised, discreet, and refined guest experience throughout the entire guest journey.
This role is suited to service-oriented individuals with strong guest relations skills, a high level of professionalism, and a genuine willingness to learn and develop within a luxury hospitality environment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Greet and welcome guests in a warm, professional, and engaging manner in line with operational standards.
- Respond promptly, courteously, and efficiently to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Deliver a personalised service experience, anticipating guest needs and preferences throughout the stay.
- Assist during guest arrivals and departures, including offering welcome refreshments and handling guest luggage.
- Prepare guest room arrangements and amenities prior to arrivals, ensuring rooms meet established presentation and quality standards.
- Ensure in‑house guest rooms are appropriately serviced during the morning and turn‑down shifts in coordination with Housekeeping.
- Monitor minibar setup and ensure items are replenished, refreshed, and presented according to established standards.
- Organise and monitor inventory levels, reporting low stock, expiry dates, or quality concerns to the Head Butler or Butler Supervisor.
- Assist with in‑room dining service, including setup and service for private lunches, dinners, and canapé events.
- Prepare and organise all necessary equipment and items for guest excursions and off‑property activities.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the hotel’s dining outlets, menus, and service offerings.
- Maintain accurate awareness of guest food preferences, dietary requirements, and allergies, ensuring these are communicated appropriately.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of guest preferences and special requests.
- Communicate clearly with guests regarding daily schedules, preferred service times, and room servicing arrangements.
- Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure seamless operations and a consistent, high‑quality guest experience.
- Uphold strict standards of guest confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Carries out other job‑related duties as assigned in support of hotel operations.
- Previous experience in a hospitality role, preferably within a luxury or high‑end establishment.
- A valid Food Handling Certificate is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Maintains a positive attitude and the ability to remain composed in different situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Impeccable personal presentation and grooming standards.
- Strong commitment to delivering consistently high levels of guest service.
- Ability to perform a physically active role, including standing and walking for extended periods of time and regularly lifting and handling items such as luggage, trolleys etc.
- Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
