The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Human Resource Assistant within our Shared Services Center (SSC), part of the Office of Human Resource Consulting Services. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that provides full-service HR support to 16 small state agencies.
You’ll take ownership of processing all HR transactions for wage employees at our client agencies and play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the SSC team. - Considerable experience as a Human Resource Assistant or in a relevant human resources/administrative position.
- Working knowledge of general Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of payroll practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and appropriately work with sensitive and confidential data, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, coordinate multiple assignments and meet critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform a wide variety of administrative assignments and to effectively manage office activities.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and compile reports.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both orally and in writing.
- Experience with Cardinal Human Capital Management System (Cardinal HCM) or similar Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Courses in Business, office practices and procedures, and automated business applications.
- State government experience.
- Experience in human resources for a government entity
