Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Middleware Consultant / IBM ACE ESB Administrator to support and evolve a mission-critical enterprise integration platform. This is a hands-on, senior-level middleware role focused on designing, administering, and optimizing large-scale IBM ACE (IIB) environments across AWS and on-prem infrastructure. This role is ideal for an independent, technically strong professional who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving performance and scalability challenges, and has deep expertise in IBM ACE, IBM MQ, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code.

You will work alongside experienced engineers to ensure the stability, security, and performance of integration services that support nationally significant systems.

• Design, build, and administer enterprise-scale IBM ACE (IIB) environments in AWS and on-prem
• Support and integrate IBM MQ for high-volume, reliable messaging
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Python, and Shell scripting
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for middleware and ESB deployments
• Perform performance tuning, log analysis, and memory optimization for IBM ACE
• Administer security, certificates, and encryption for ESB platforms
• Support deployments across Linux and AIX operating systems
• Design and implement disaster recovery and failover strategies across regions and sites
• Support AWS services used by ESB workloads, including EC2, IAM, S3, and Lambda
• Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to ensure platform stability, scalability, and compliance
• Troubleshoot complex middleware and server issues and provide root-cause analysis

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and administering IBM ACE (IIB) in AWS and on-prem environments
• 3+ years of enterprise experience with IBM MQ
• Strong expertise in performance tuning, logging, and memory management
• Hands-on experience with Linux and AIX
• Proven experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong AWS technical skills (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda; Gov Cloud experience a plus)
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (required or strongly preferred)
• Ability to work independently in a remote, enterprise environment
