Overview

The Fountain Group is currently seeking an IT Systems Support Specialist / Lab IT Deskside Support Specialist for a prominent client.

Location:

Richmond, VA 23219.

Pay Rate Range – $23-33/hr on W2

4.5 months assignment with possibility of extension

Job Description

The Lab IT Deskside Support Specialist is responsible for the Windows 11 migration activities at a client's facility. Candidate must be an outgoing individual and who has experience in a deskside or Lab IT environment.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a working relationship with Lab Owners, IT Teams and Management.
  • Update the physical inventory of lab equipment, PC’s, software and any other information pertinent to the environment
  • Collaborates with client’s project management team to assure a seamless migration
  • Migrate computers and software per the PKI Windows 10 documentation
  • Document procedures, policies, troubleshooting and best practices
  • Coordinates and works with outside vendors, with migrations.
  • Maintain daily project related communications with the Windows 10 team
  • Participate in daily project scrum meetings
  • Listens actively and communicates promptly and effectively with users and the Windows 10 management team. Provides timely follow-up.
  • Escalates migration issues to the project manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 plus years’ experience in deskside support or lab IT environment. 3+ years’ experience with an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree. Working in a Lab/R&D/Scientific/Clinical environments preferred, not required.
  • Experience migrating from Windows 10 to Windows 11 rollout ideal - imaging, migrating, validating PCs and lab systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Lab IT desktop technology issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
