As the Senior Manager of Technology for Master Data Management, you’ll lead a high‑performing team of software and data engineers who partner with source data systems to centralize, enrich, and provide additional quality controls for the data critical to operational systems and the customer 360 solution. Your role is essential for ensuring data is ready to support mission‑critical capabilities that drive Car Max’s iconic customer experience.

Responsibilities – What You Will Do
  • Prioritize objectives and provide a holistic approach to solution recommendations that includes ROI, time to market, scalability, and alternative options.
  • Deliver commitments by being results‑focused while efficiently leveraging team talent.
  • Think strategically – identify goals for the team while removing impediments.
  • Evaluate root cause of multi‑layer problems and identify impacts beyond the immediate team; break down complex plans into digestible, manageable action plans.
Communication
  • Persuasive and influential communicator – able to explain complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communicate the vision to executive management while guiding the team to support the strategic direction.
  • Leverage a balanced network across various levels to influence.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, peer groups, the IT management team, and key associates to secure buy‑in on strategic efforts.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and empower a team of engineers with varying experience levels.
  • Connect daily work to the organizational vision and inspire the team to contribute by sharing the “why.”
  • Attract, recruit, retain, and coach a strong team of skilled and engaged associates.
  • Create clear role expectations and develop associates to reach their full potential – understand goals, partner in development, provide advice, feedback, training, and advocacy.
  • Drive associate engagement while leading through other leaders where necessary.
Technology and Methods
  • MDM tool – Reltio
  • Integration patterns – REST APIs, Eventing, Bulk Uploads
  • Dev Ops practices and culture
  • Dual‑Track Agile
  • .Net Core, Azure, Microservices architecture, Snowflake
  • While this role is not “hands‑on keyboard,” we challenge our Senior Managers to remain curious of innovative technology while broadening their knowledge of Car Max functional areas.

Education and Experience
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
