Akkodis is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect for a Contract position with clients in Richmond, VA/Kennesaw, GA/Charlotte, NC (Hybrid). Ideal candidates will have a solid background in the financial services industry.
Rate Range: $85-90/Hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer / Cybersecurity Architect to support enterprise cloud modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud environments across public, private, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement secure cloud architectures for enterprise environments.
- Provide expertise in cloud security, networking, encryption, authentication, IAM, and governance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, Dev Ops, and development teams to ensure secure cloud integrations.
- Define and enforce security standards, policies, and best practices for cloud platforms and containerized environments.
- Conduct cloud security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and risk evaluations.
- Support governance, compliance, audit, and certification initiatives including FedRAMP, NIST, and industry security standards.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts, monitoring solutions, and security tooling using APIs, SDKs, and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
- Drive implementation of cloud security controls across AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
- Work with third‑party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with enterprise security requirements.
- Support cloud migration strategies and ensure security alignment during modernization initiatives.
- Research and recommend automated security analysis and remediation solutions.
- Perform gap analysis using standard security frameworks and industry best practices.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering or cybersecurity architecture.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud security and enterprise cloud environments.
- Experience with IAM, networking, security groups, encryption, and cloud governance.
- Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and security event analysis.
- Experience with security automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Familiarity with cloud security tools, compliance frameworks, and vulnerability management.
- Understanding of web technologies, APIs, and service‑oriented architectures.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments with secure cloud deployments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, AWS Security Specialty, or similar security certifications.
- Experience with FedRAMP, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2, or other regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops , CI/CD pipelines, and container security.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud and cloud migration strategies.
