Job Overview
Capital One seeks a Director of Technology & Cyber Risk Metrics & Reporting to develop and implement metrics that drive change across technology risk, cybersecurity, and developer quality. The role is responsible for strategy, governance, and executive reporting across the board of directors and risk committees.
Key Responsibilities- Understand current metrics and develop a strategy to better use metrics, dashboards, and governance forums to drive change.
- Create and refine metric suites across technology, tech risk, and cybersecurity, aligned to industry frameworks.
- Engage stakeholders across first, second, and third lines of defense to align on metrics and thresholds.
- Document and communicate shortcomings and limitations of metrics.
- Monitor metrics, investigate anomalies, and recommend response actions.
- Oversee development of quarterly Board memo and other executive presentations.
- Build a culture of data‑driven decision making and socialize strategy across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity or technology risk.
- At least 5 years of experience with cybersecurity or technology risk metrics.
- At least 5 years of experience with governance forums.
- At least 3 years of experience leading people.
- Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering.
- At least 12 years of experience in cybersecurity or technology risks related to resilience, reliability, or code quality.
- At least 3 years of experience in cloud computing.
- Understanding of multiple domains such as cybersecurity, site reliability engineering, dev/ops, and developer excellence.
- Experience revamping an organizational metrics program.
- Experience with governance forums that senior leaders use to manage organizations.
Minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries:
McLean, VA: $230,400 – $263,000;
Richmond, VA: $209,500 – $239,100. Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation. Capital One offers a comprehensive health, financial and other benefits that support overall well‑being.
