Senior Database Administrator; SQL Server & PostgreSQL; Hybrid

Overview

TM Floyd & Company is seeking an experienced Senior Database Analyst with deep expertise in SQL Server and Postgre

SQL administration to support large-scale enterprise database environments.

• 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA and Postgre
  
  SQL DBA experience
• Strong expertise in database performance tuning, monitoring, backup/recovery, and query optimization
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments across Windows and Linux platforms
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2012+ and Postgre
  
  SQL 11+
• HA/DR administration and support experience
• Experience with Azure, AWS RDS, and hybrid cloud database environments
• Scripting skills using Power Shell, Bash, or Python for automation
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

• Support day-to-day SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL operations across Azure, Linux, and Windows environments
• Monitor and optimize database performance and query execution
• Manage backup, recovery, restores, patching, and upgrades
• Support HA/DR configurations and enterprise monitoring tools
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to resolve complex database issues
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

• The ideal candidate is a highly experienced, hands-on Database Administrator who thrives in complex, enterprise-scale environments and brings deep expertise across both SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL platforms. They are confident working in hybrid infrastructures spanning on-prem, Azure, and AWS, and have a strong track record of ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and data reliability.
• This individual is proactive in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, skilled in both query and system-level tuning, and comfortable supporting mission-critical production systems with minimal downtime. They are equally strong in operational execution and strategic thinking, with the ability to design and maintain robust backup, recovery, and HA/DR solutions.
• Beyond technical depth, the ideal candidate is collaborative and communicative—able to work effectively with application teams, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders. They are disciplined in documentation, responsive in a 24x7 on-call environment, and bring a continuous improvement mindset to automation, monitoring, and DBA best practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent required

The hourly rate for this position is $54.21.
