Senior Manager, Technical Program Management (Global Payment Network)

The Global Payment Network (GPN) Technology organization manages critical payments infrastructure to facilitate high‑throughput, secure global transaction processing. Our Technical Program Management (TPM) teams leverage deep technical acumen and systems thinking to drive architectural alignment, technical strategy, and execution of the organization’s objectives and key results. They improve scalability and system resilience within the GPN engineering lifecycle, focusing on ownership of complex technical dependencies, cross‑functional engineering roadmaps, and robust delivery of global financial infrastructure.

• Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life‑cycle
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem‑solving and influencing skills
• A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer of holistic solutions; a systems thinker
• Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well‑educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives

• Exceptional cross‑team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done
• Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep‑seeded empathy for teams and partners

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs

• 5+ years of experience designing and building data‑intensive solutions using distributed computing
• 3+ years of experience building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture—preferably using AWS
• 3+ years of experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
• 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs—owning the business or technical vision, collaborating with large cross‑functional teams, securing commitments on deliverables, and unblocking teams to land business impact
• Experience building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed by location. McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100;
Plano, TX: $182,500 - $208,300;
Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300;
Riverwoods, IL: $182,500 - $208,300. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
