Position: Database Administrator / Data Engineer – migrating on‑premises databases to AWS for the Dept. of Behavioral Health Developmental Services (DBHDS).

• Support migration of on‑prem databases to AWS
• Develop Python scripts for data generation and bulk loads
• Build and maintain AWS‑based data pipelines
• Design and support data models
• Support application teams using Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
• Assist with data validation, migration testing, and performance tuning

• 5+ years in DBA, Data Engineering, or similar role
• 3+ years of AWS and Snowflake experience
• Experience with on‑prem SQL Server to AWS and Snowflake data migration, including use of AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or similar tools
• Strong experience with Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
• Experience developing Python scripts for data creation, transformation, and data loads
• Experience building AWS‑based data pipelines (Glue, Lambda, S3)
• Experience designing logical and physical data models and supporting application teams with schema design
• Experience with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) and DMS (preferred)
• Experience working with large datasets and ETL pipelines (preferred)
• Knowledge of data lake architecture (preferred)
• Experience with Postgre

Location: 1220 Bank St, Richmond, VA 23219 (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Compensation: $100K–110K per annum with benefits
