The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting cloud-based and AI-enabled solutions that enhance operational efficiency and institutional effectiveness. This role focuses on modernizing systems, building secure and scalable applications, and leveraging emerging technologies aligned with College and VCCS strategies.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain cloud-hosted applications using platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other approved environments; integrate solutions with enterprise systems (ERP, SIS, LMS, identity platforms); and ensure compliance with architecture and security standards.
Develop AI-enabled applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI studios, and automation tools to create intelligent assistants and workflow solutions while ensuring ethical, secure, and compliant implementation.
Support and optimize existing applications, implement Dev Ops and CI/CD practices, research emerging technologies, conduct pilot projects, collaborate with campus stakeholders, produce technical documentation, and provide training to ensure effective adoption of supported solutions.
Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of application development or systems integration experience
- Proficiency in one or more languages:
Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar - Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with REST APIs, databases (SQL/No
SQL), and identity systems - Understanding of secure coding practices and IT governance
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
- Experience using LLMs, AI platforms, or AI Studio tools
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Azure OpenAI, or similar services
- Dev Ops experience (Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, CI/CD)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
Successful completion and passing of a background check is required.
Additional ConsiderationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience. Higher‑education system experience (People Soft, Workday, Banner, etc.).
CertificationsMicrosoft Azure Developer Associate, AWS Developer Associate, AI/ML or Cloud certifications.
