Business Analyst

We are seeking a local Associate Business Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a junior analyst who has prior experience working with this specific state transportation agency and possesses strong low-code development skills.

  Must have previous experience working directly with this state's Department of Transportation (policies, systems, and procedures).

  2+ years of hands‑on experience with Power Apps and Power Automate to build workflows and internal tools.

  Must be local to the Richmond, VA area.

• Requirements Gathering:
  Translating customer pain points into actionable technical documentation.
• Process Diagramming:
  Creating current-state and future-state process flows, context diagrams, and data-flow diagrams.
• SDLC Frameworks:
  Working comfortably in both Agile (Sprints, User Stories, Epics, Backlog Refinement) and traditional Waterfall environments.

• UAT Facilitation:
  Coordinating User Acceptance Testing and capturing stakeholder feedback.
• Test Execution:
  Drafting test objectives and executing basic functional and regression tests.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Public Administration, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of professional experience in business analysis, data analysis, or project support.
• Strong communication skills with a sharp attention to detail.
