Scrum Master
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 12 months, Onsite
Job Summary:
Seeking for a dedicated Scrum Master to lead Agile teams, ensuring effective implementation of Scrum and Kanban principles. Will have strong negotiation skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to team success. Your role will be to enforce Scrum rules, remove impediments, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Liaison & Communication:
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical departments.
- Communicate effectively with management, developers, product owners, and support specialists.
- Coach teams on best practices, including backlog maintenance and user story development.
- Development:
- Facilitate project planning, stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, and other Scrum activities.
- Track and communicate team velocity and progress.
- Ensure adherence to Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, and visibility.
- Application Support:
- Assist with backlog maintenance and user story quality review.
- Enhance transparency and communication within and outside the team.
- Help prioritize and resolve defects and bugs.
- Management:
- Develop and maintain team agreements, standards, and tools.
- Manage team performance metrics to drive process efficiencies.
- Identify and remove impediments to team progress.
- Facilitate discussions and conflict resolution.
- Empower teams to self-organize and take ownership of their processes.
Requirements:
- Formal Education & Certification:
- Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, or 10 years equivalent work experience.
- Certified Scrum Master required.
- Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience and certification is a plus.
- Knowledge & Experience:
- Preferred experience as a Scrum Master or Business Analyst.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to comprehend technical issues and platforms.
