Location: Richmond, VA — On Site
Duration: 6+ Months
Travel: 100% on site from Day 1 with some (10%) travel to remote sites in the Richmond/Hampton Roads area. Travel will be reimbursed. Candidate must provide reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

About the RoleSupport the Department of Veterans Services’ Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, a medical facility with approximately 200 IT devices (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile phones). Assist DVS IT Management with integration, management, and support of the Information Technology program for the Veterans Care Center and remote Veterans Benefits sites. Provide independent IT administration and technical support for agency‑specific software and hardware systems.
Responsibilities& Qualifications
- Set up, configure, and maintain PC desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
- Install, troubleshoot, and administer Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office suite, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, McAfee Anti‑Virus Software, Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer, and other commercial business software.
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot Android and Apple mobile devices.
- Support and troubleshoot Ethernet‑based LAN/WAN environments, including network protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Install, administer, troubleshoot, and train on email applications (Google Suite, PST files, calendaring, distribution lists, etc.).
- Use IT inventory control, ticketing system, and reporting.
- Configure and troubleshoot analog and digital phone systems.
- Apply basic principles of network and IT security.
- Demonstrate professional, courteous attitude toward customers, team members, and vendors; communicate clearly and effectively.
- Exhibit strong customer service and teamwork orientation.
- Apply problem‑solving skills to assess and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain good organization, time‑management, and documentation skills.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and perform repetitive motions, standing, sitting, reaching, walking, bending, and climbing.
