Azure Cloud Solutions Architect (Hybrid) – Richmond, VA

Location:

Richmond, VA (Hybrid – onsite required 3–4 days/week during probation, minimum 1 week per quarter thereafter)

Duration: 18 months with possible extension beyond June 30 2026 (potential 6–12+ months)

Hourly Rate: DOE

Work Authorization: U.S. citizenship required or other lawful status; local candidates strongly preferred; onsite presence in Richmond, VA needed to pick up laptop.

Both webcam and in‑person interview.

• Create overall application and solution architectures, component designs, and system integrations for business solutions.
• Lead effort in defining, documenting and estimating enterprise application architectures.
• Capture requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, OS, on‑prem, hybrid and cloud topologies, interfaces, checks and controls, inputs/outputs.
• Collaborate with IT staff and business areas to assess needs and translate into automated solutions.
• Produce solution design artifacts (technical estimates, conceptual, logical, physical designs, sequence diagrams, data models).
• Coordinate new system development to ensure consistency and integration with existing applications and COTS solutions.
• Analyze feasibility and compatibility with hardware and other programs; consult with clients to prototype, architect and design applications.
• Partner with cross‑functional architects to develop roadmaps and strategies supporting agency KPIs.
• Design/implement Enterprise Security/technology patterns.
• Consult with teams on initiatives, provide tactical direction and architecture considerations for legacy solutions.

• Experience with SAFe architecture and proven work experience with Agile/Scrum teams.
• Proven experience developing enterprise and solution‑level architectural designs.
• Experience overseeing linking of cross‑functional applications between disparate business units and systems.
• Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping.
• Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.
• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Competency with XML constructs and schemas.
• Proficiency with API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST.
• Strong understanding of end‑user needs and requirements.
• Excellent understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
• Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project‑based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
