Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for an opening as a one‑year Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer Science, commencing August 3, 2026. A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required; ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a doctoral defense by May prior to the appointment.
Candidates with specialties in Digital Forensics/Cybersecurity and Database Systems are especially encouraged to apply.
Teach undergraduate courses on campus and/or online in a range of department areas, including core curriculum, service courses, seminars, and workshops, with a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution. Assist in promoting the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology programs and support the initiatives of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics. Demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence relevant to the discipline and pursue professional development to acquire such expertise, as the university places a high priority on responsible use of AI and building such capacity in students.
QualificationsEducation: A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a doctoral defense by May prior to the appointment. Proficiency in oral and written English is required.
