This full‑time temporary position requires a qualified Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer to work onsite in Richmond, VA.
Job DescriptionOnly qualified Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer candidates located in the Richmond, VA area will be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence.
Preferred Certification- Certification in Oracle technologies such as OCIP, OCP, or OCE
- Oracle Grid Control version 13c (7 years)
- Oracle Apex administration and support (5 years)
- Oracle DB migration from Solaris to Linux (database 12c/11g) (10 years)
- Oracle database backup/restore/rman/data guard (10 years)
- Oracle performance tuning/database maintenance/management (10 years)
- On‑call production support (10 years)
- Oracle database 19c and above
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related technologies:
- Oracle Application Express 18 and higher (APEX)
- Oracle Rest Data Services 22 and higher (ORDS)
- Oracle Web Logic Server 14 (both fusion middleware and Web Logic suite)
- Oracle Database 19c and 26ai
- Container Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB)
- Oracle Web Logic 12c/fusion middleware
- Oracle Cloud setup/AWS/Azure administration
- Windows/SQL Server/IIS administration
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Git Lab CI
- Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architecture
- Ability to design and implement high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions
- Experience with Oracle OEM Cloud Control for monitoring and management
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Java Script
- In‑depth knowledge of database security best practices
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to provide 24/7 support and troubleshoot critical issues
- Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components
- Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services
- Configure and administer Oracle Web Logic Server and related technologies
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other tools
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection
- Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendations
- Implement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible
- Collaborate with development and Dev Ops teams to ensure seamless application deployment
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely support
- Document and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment management
