Richmond, VA | 12+ Month Contract

Job Overview

The agency requires a trainer with Information Technology expertise to support the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), local health district employees, and sub‑recipient sites in the HIV Care Services Program, Provide Enterprise. The trainer will develop and deliver end‑user training, create training materials for the TRAIN learning management system, and provide help‑desk support. The role will serve as a subject matter expert in the program area and guide staff to improve efficiency in their job tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Identify skill gaps and training needs in collaboration with district, regional, and OIM staff.
  • Create, curate, and update training materials such as videos, presentations, job aids and other deliverables.
  • Deliver classroom, on‑site, and web‑based training sessions and provide follow‑up support.
  • Provide help‑desk support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Coach staff through troubleshooting and advise on best practices using program subject‑matter expertise.
  • Travel as required to deliver on‑site training and participate in the help desk.
  • Offer office hours for impromptu training requests.
  • Communicate training needs and strategies to the Provide training and support team.
  • Demonstrate servant leadership through collaborative planning and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management Information Systems, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Knowledge and experience working with a local health department or the Virginia Department of Health.
  • Knowledge of the Ryan White HIV program.
  • Experience using the Provide Enterprise System.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management Information Systems, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design.
  • General working knowledge of MS 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Forms, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Hands‑on experience building training materials such as videos, presentations, or job aids.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software (hands‑on or help‑desk).
  • Minimum 4 years of related professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience advising and influencing internal stakeholders (leadership, technical trainers).
  • Strong performance orientation, accountability, and results‑driven mindset.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and open‑minded approach to working with others.
  • Self‑starter, team player, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to coach and influence internal key stakeholders.
