Senior Business Analyst
Varmoda is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a strong technical background to support a major modernization initiative for an Incident Management System. This role will partner with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and data teams to drive requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and validation throughout the software development lifecycle. The engagement supports projects delivered using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities, including requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Analyze and validate business and technical requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and compliance with established standards.
- Create process flows, business process models, diagrams, specifications, and supporting documentation for development teams.
- Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, including change tracking and requirements traceability.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of project objectives and solutions.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Architects, Developers, and Data Governance teams to align requirements across project work streams.
- Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios and support testing, validation sessions, and business sign-off activities.
- Provide project insights and status updates to business and IT leadership as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience developing, executing, and managing cloud-hosted SaaS implementation projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with automated requirements and/or development management tools.
- Minimum 4 years of experience writing user stories.
- Ability to attend occasional onsite meetings and reside within a 3-hour driving distance of the client office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical background supporting software development projects.
- Experience working on healthcare-related projects.
- Experience with Data Modernization initiatives and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environments.
- Experience using JIRA and/or Azure Dev Ops.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
- PMP Certification through PMI or qualification under Commonwealth of Virginia standards.
- Experience with VITA Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) and ECOS processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
