Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA 23219 (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite per Week after Training)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance a hybrid enterprise infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server administration, cloud infrastructure, security, automation, networking, patch management, disaster recovery, and production application support
. This role requires hands-on experience with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, vulnerability remediation, troubleshooting, and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.

The successful candidate will work across both on-premises and cloud environments while supporting technologies including .NET, Java, Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics, and warehouse management platforms
. Strong networking knowledge, particularly the OSI model and networking protocols
, is essential.

Infrastructure Administration

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Perform Windows Server upgrades, patch installations, testing, and ongoing system maintenance.
• Execute server migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud migrations.
• Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts and automation solutions for operational efficiency.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and ensure high availability of enterprise systems.

Security & Compliance

• Implement server security best practices, endpoint protection, and access controls.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities for servers and enterprise applications.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and policies.
• Support security monitoring and incident response activities.

Patching, Monitoring & Automation

• Manage enterprise patching processes using SCCM or similar endpoint management tools.
• Automate infrastructure management tasks using Power Shell and related scripting tools.
• Monitor server health, system performance, and proactively resolve infrastructure issues.
• Generate patch compliance and operational reports.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Manage enterprise backup operations and recovery procedures.
• Support and improve Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and business continuity planning.
• Perform backup validation and recovery testing to ensure data integrity.

Production Application Support

• Provide advanced infrastructure support for enterprise applications built on:

• Java
• Oracle
• SQL Server
• Microsoft Dynamics
• Warehouse Management Systems
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across servers, middleware, databases, and infrastructure components.
• Support application deployments and infrastructure changes.

Networking & Systems Integration

• Utilize deep understanding of the OSI Model and networking protocols to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams during deployments and system upgrades.
• Support hybrid infrastructure integration between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Work closely with Infrastructure & Operations teams and IT leadership.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering or Systems Administration.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Power Shell scripting and infrastructure automation.
• Experience managing enterprise patching using SCCM or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Experience supporting enterprise production applications.
