The team focuses on an eCommerce & omnichannel transformation to extend market leadership and future growth. As a Sr. Analyst in Retail Strategy, you will partner with product, technology, and operations to advance the retail business through data, analytics, and strategy, focusing on one of the shopping‑journey subteams.

• Web Strategy – analyze and prioritize to optimize early‑funnel search and finance experiences on Car Max’s digital properties.
• Product Strategy – build and improve online progression steps that allow customers to complete more of the buying process online.
• Customer Experience Center (CEC) Strategy – ensure the contact center delivers exceptional service for remote shopping.
• Sales Strategy – create an outstanding in‑store experience regardless of prior online activity.
• Business Operations Strategy – enable fast, easy in‑store transactions when customers are ready to buy.

• Design and analyze tests to evaluate changes to products and operations.
• Conduct data‑driven analyses to support prioritization and key business questions.
• Influence strategic decisions of business partners in product, technology, and operations.
• Partner with owners to drive innovation aligned with Car Max’s retail vision.
• Develop and enhance analytical tools—data sets, models, reports, dashboards—to monitor performance.
• Generate value‑creating ideas and collaborate with partners to prioritize and activate them.

• Track record of strong problem solving, strategic thinking, and quantitative/qualitative analysis.
• Experience conducting large‑scale data analysis and ability to use tools such as SQL or Tableau.
• Apply business and technical knowledge to solve complex problems and make recommendations.
• Communicate complex topics to audiences with varying technical familiarity.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to collaborate with analysts and partners shaping strategy at both big‑picture and detailed levels.
• Two or more years of experience in an analytical or strategic role.
• Four‑year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance.

Work Location and Arrangement: Role based at Car Max Midtown Office (Richmond, VA) with onsite 4 days per week.
