Senior Systems Analyst & Build Engineer – CI/CD & Application Delivery | Hybrid | Richmond, VA

We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst & Build Engineer to support a major enterprise technology organization within the energy/utility industry. This is a hybrid technical and business-facing role for someone who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders, application teams, developers, operations, and Dev Ops engineering.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a senior technical professional with 5+ years of experience spanning systems analysis, application support, Dev Ops, build/release engineering, and CI/CD automation
. They should be equally comfortable gathering and translating business requirements as they are working hands-on with Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, scripting, SQL/Oracle, APIs, and enterprise application environments
. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in a utility, energy, or other regulated industry
, along with strong Agile/Scrum experience and a proven ability to troubleshoot production issues, support releases, automate processes, and collaborate across business and technical teams. The right person will be a strong communicator, analytical problem-solver, and team player who can take ownership while effectively working with stakeholders, developers, operations, vendors, and leadership.

Strong experience with:

• Business and technical requirements gathering and documentation
• Agile/Scrum environments, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• CI/CD pipeline development and automation
• Terraform and/or Ansible/Infrastructure as Code
• Enterprise application production support and troubleshooting
• SQL, Oracle databases, and data analysis
• APIs, web services, system integrations, and data interfaces
• Power Shell, Python, Bash, YAML, or similar scripting
• SDLC, release management, and application lifecycle management
• Cross-functional stakeholder collaboration

Nice to Have

Experience with:

• Utility, energy, commodity trading, finance, or other regulated industries
• AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Azure Monitor, or Cloud Watch
• Dev Sec Ops , vulnerability management, and security automation
• Terraform or Ansible certifications
• PMP, ITIL, CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Agile, or Azure certifications

What You'll Be Doing

• You'll help analyze business needs, define technical requirements, support enterprise applications, troubleshoot production issues, manage releases, develop CI/CD automation, implement Infrastructure as Code, and improve application delivery across cloud and hybrid environments.
• You'll also work closely with Product Owners, Developers, QA, Architects, Operations, vendors, and business stakeholders to drive successful technology solutions and continuous improvement.
