Job Title: Executive Claims Examiner, Professional Liability

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and highly experienced Claims professional to manage a portfolio of professional liability, management liability and/or allied healthcare liability claims. This role involves evaluating complex coverage scenarios, conducting thorough investigations, and overseeing the resolution of claims in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and a deep understanding of professional liability and/or allied healthcare exposures.
While not required, experience working within the specialty insurance market is a plus.
- Handle a diverse and complex caseload consisting of litigated and pre-litigation claims and potential claims from first notice through resolution
- Conduct thorough coverage, liability and damages investigations
- Conduct complex coverage analysis under claims-made and reported policies
- Draft comprehensive and analytically rigorous coverage letters
- Proactively manage defense counsel, experts, and other vendors efficiently and strategically
- Drive effective resolution strategy, including mediation, settlement negotiation, and trial oversight
- Partner with underwriting on risk trends
- Prepare clear internal reporting for leadership and reinsurers as necessary
- Support claims leadership by providing guidance, mentorship and technical training to developing examiners
- Candidates must possessa Bachelor’s degree; JD preferred but not required
- 7+ years of professional liability, management liability, and/or allied healthcare liability claims experience on claims-made or claims-made and reported forms
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, policy interpretation, and litigation management
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle high-severity, complex claims independently
- Active Texas All-Lines Adjuster License preferred; NY license a plus
- Experience working in the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market is ideal
