Our client, a reputable law firm in Richmond, is seeking an experienced Pre-litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support their personal injury practice through all pre-litigation phases.
Position Overview:
As a key member of the legal team, you will manage client case files with precision and empathy, assist with client intake and communication, and help prepare cases for litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize client case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Conduct thorough intake interviews, establishing rapport and understanding clients' needs.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, providing updates and support throughout the pre-litigation process.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial activities.
- Organize and maintain legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and subpoenas.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, depositions, and trial-related meetings efficiently.
- Request, track, and review medical records, bills, and lien documentation, including ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers' compensation liens.
- Facilitate billing, coordinate bill payments, and assist with setting up client appointments.
- Monitor and calendar court deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses.
- Utilize case management software to update case records accurately and efficiently.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the legal team and client needs.
- Minimum of 2+ years of personal injury plaintiff experience.
- Proven experience conducting intake interviews and handling high-volume caseloads.
- Familiarity with liens related to ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers' compensation.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented approach.
- Proficient in legal case management systems; experience with Litify is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Office-based role involving prolonged sitting, computer work, and occasional standing or walking.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain focus for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as phones, keyboards, and copiers.
- Competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $85,000 based on experience.
