Material Planner in Richmond

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory, including sales in excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Each day you will support internal customer service inquiries and set inventory parameters and targets to ensure adequate replenishment through purchase orders, ensuring material availability as per the manufacturing plan.

• Defining inventory policies based on specified segmentation.
• Calculating and maintaining inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies in the planning systems and ERP.
• Analyzing potential shortages; assigning valid notifications to the Purchasing team; troubleshooting warnings and adjusting SAP parametrization when applicable.

Collaborating with buyers to achieve the best possible supplier performance in terms of on‑time delivery, minimum order quantity, quality, lead time, and flexibility.

• Bachelor degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field PLUS minimum 5 years of experience in material planning/purchasing/ supply chain.
• Must have experience in SAP MM/PP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power Query, Power BI and data analysis.
• Experience in Inventory Management & Control.
