The Painter will perform duties necessary to maintain the appearance of the facility, including the residences, common areas, and work spaces, while providing a high level of quality and service delivery to residents, family and guests.

Shift(s)

Full Time:
Monday through Friday 8:00–4:30 pm with a rotating weekend every 6–8 weeks.

Major Accountabilities/Essential

Job Duties
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by use of sand paper, scrapers, wire brushes and steel wool.
  • Prepare work areas; paint all interior surfaces.
  • Responsible for cleaning all equipment and work areas upon completion.
  • Responsible for quality check of all project areas upon completion.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Physical Requirements
  • Extensive periods of physical activity.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively; to collaborate with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to read work assignments and to communicate with residents/staff through verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to visibly match paint colors.
  • Knowledge of painting procedures and skill in execution.
  • Knowledge in repairing wall surfaces in preparation for painting and skill in execution.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license in the State of Virginia with a minimum age of 21 to drive for the organization.
  • Offers of employment are conditioned on applicants meeting the requirements of a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
