A rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who doesn’t just want to run projects, but wants to build a long term career toward executive leadership.

We’re partnered with one of Virginia’s most respected employee‑owned mechanical contractors, known for quality delivery, low staff turnover, and genuinely investing in their people. With succession planning already underway and several senior leaders approaching retirement over the next 1 to 2 years, they’re intentionally hiring someone who can grow into a future Director of Operations / Construction role.
You’ll lead major HVAC and MEP projects, manage and develop a small team of Project Managers, and gradually take on more operational responsibility, commercial oversight, and strategic input as you progress.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Leading complex mechanical contracting projects from preconstruction through completion
- Managing and mentoring two Project Managers
- Owning schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, and client relationships
- Working closely with estimating, field leadership, and executives
- Taking increasing responsibility for team performance and operational strategy
- Clear, structured pathway toward Director level leadership
- Employee‑owned business, you share directly in the company’s success (ESOP)
- High trust, people‑first culture with long tenure across the team
- Real influence, not just delivery
- Strong backlog of work across Richmond and surrounding markets
- Experience running complex, high‑value projects
- Leadership or mentorship experience
- Commercially aware, organized, and confident dealing with clients
- Someone ambitious and ready to step into bigger responsibility over time
- $115,000 to $130,000 base
- 15% bonus (OTE $150k)
