A leading P&C carrier is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead its Small Commercial team!
Key Responsibilities- Direct and mentor a Commercial Lines Underwriting team.
- Oversee underwriting operations and guide staff within assigned authority levels.
- Handle complex accounts that exceed team authority.
- Monitor service standards for new business, renewals, and policy changes.
- Participate in initiatives and strategic projects led by senior management.
- Collaborate across departments to troubleshoot issues and improve workflow.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Travel periodically as required.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting procedures, pricing models, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience in small commercial.
- A generalist, multi-line background.
- Experience on the admitted side.
