Director of Operations – HVAC Products
Locations:
Richmond, VA or Hanover, MD.
The Director of Operations leads strategic oversight of all warehouse, logistics, and operational functions across the region, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with company goals. The role collaborates with senior leadership to develop and execute regional strategies, foster continuous improvement, and maintain a high‑performing distribution network.
Job Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations; work with the Manager of Safety to develop and enforce protocols.
- Lead the Operations team, fostering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop staff; conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Oversee transportation and logistics partnerships, ensuring compliance and quality control.
- Implement operational strategies to achieve business goals, improve processes, and align operations with overall strategy.
- Analyze freight operations, streamline workflows, and monitor key performance indicators to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and timely cycle counts; lead annual physical inventory.
- Stay current on industry trends, evaluate and implement new technologies, and promote a culture of innovation.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
- Advanced computer skills with familiarity in warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and industry standards.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology platforms.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or comparable continuous‑improvement experience.
- 10+ years of distribution, warehousing, or logistics experience.
- 5 years in a leadership role.
- Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field.
