The Records/Classification Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all the demands are carried out daily in both divisions, ensuring all court paperwork is accounted and updated accurately. Maintaining the integrity of the Agency and Professional customer service.

The Records/Classification Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all the demands are carried out daily in both divisions, ensuring all court paperwork is accounted and updated accurately. Maintaining the integrity of the Agency and Professional customer service.

Reporting Structure

The Records/Classification Supervisor is a civilian position which reports directly to the Major of the Records Room Division.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensures that the Record/Classification Divisions operate in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and the minimum standards for local jails and lock ups.
  • Develops policies and procedures to further enhance the Records and Classification division.
  • Supervise/train and provide leadership skills for all personnel assigned to Records and classification.
  • Provide training outlining specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for documenting all training of those assigned to Records and Classification.
  • Monitors all paperwork completed by staff to ensure no errors are made.
  • Approves all files scheduled for release.
  • Approves all new commitments, ensuring that each offender has been lawfully remanded into RCJC custody.
  • Ensures that detainers, warrants and local checks are completed prior to release in accordance with Standard Operating procedures.
  • Checks all time computations to ensure accuracy.
  • Research records when discrepancies arise.
  • Monitor and authorize any overtime due to staff challenges.
  • Ensuring daily attendance is submitted and serve as back up.
  • Conduct staff meeting to deal with concerns, updates, feedback etc. as necessary.
  • Communicated with courts on any paperwork issues that needs attention.
  • Conduct all evaluations of staff under their Supervision.
  • Reviews all files set up to be a turnover to other jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with federal agencies regarding any US Marshal turnovers.
  • Provide training and coaching to grow staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
  • The Records/Classication Supervisor will have an associate degree or higher.
  • Must be knowledgeable in basic filing systems and three to five years of experience is preferred.
  • Will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, general office equipment and possess basic computer skills..
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
