Production Manager, Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations for a single-shift production team of 4–5 employees. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met while also playing a hands‑on role in driving continuous improvement across people, processes, and workflow.
Beyond day-to-day supervision, this position is expected to identify inefficiencies, streamline manufacturing processes, and help the operation become more lean, consistent, and scalable.

Production & Operations Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production, quality, and delivery targets.
- Manage a single-shift operation, ensuring effective staffing, workflow balance, and task prioritization.
- Monitor production performance and address bottlenecks, downtime, or resource constraints.
- Ensure equipment, tools, and workstations are properly maintained and ready for use.
- Work closely with Operations and other departments to align production priorities.
- Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve performance goals.
- Conducts 1:1 meetings with team members and actively participates in all performance reviews.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration within the production team.
- Ensure proper workforce planning, including shift assignments and overtime management.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all manufacturing activities meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine checks and audits to verify quality and process adherence.
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Reinforce quality ownership at the team level.
Safety & Workplace Compliance
- Enforce workplace safety standards and safe work practices.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with company safety policies.
- Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions.
- Champion a proactive safety culture within the team.
Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and simplify manufacturing processes.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (lean, 5S, standard work, visual management, etc.).
- Analyze production data and workflows to recommend and implement improvements.
- Work with team members to capture ideas and turn them into practical improvements.
- Support the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong people leadership skills with a hands‑on, floor‑based leadership style.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, workflow, and quality control.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing.
- Ability to analyze problems, implement solutions, and drive change.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and compliance.
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Comfortable balancing daily execution with longer‑term improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
