Production Manager - Food Production & Culinary Operations

Job Type: Full-Time, 2nd shift

Location: Virginia

Salary: $75,000-$85,000, plus bonus
- Commensurate with experience

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage all aspects of daily food production operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire production team, ensuring production goals are met, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, freshness, safety, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment. This position requires experience managing large teams, controlling labor costs, operating production equipment, and enforcing food safety and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily food production operations, including hand-cut and machine-cut processes, to meet quality, safety, and productivity goals

  • Manage labor efficiency, production schedules, workflow, and staffing to control costs and meet deadlines

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff; address performance, training needs, and employee concerns

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards (Serv Safe, OSHA)

  • Maintain equipment readiness, oversee SOPs, and resolve operational or maintenance issues to prevent downtime

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, HR, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality Assurance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Serv Safe Manager Certification (required)

  • 5+ years of culinary or food production experience

  • Experience with inventory control and team management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven leadership skills with a positive, motivating management style
