Job Description
As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the complete mechanical and electrical assembly of units from start to finish. This role involves using a variety of hand and power tools, reading schematics, wire diagrams, and service manuals to build units. It requires mechanical and electrical aptitude as well as proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and data entry.
You will layout and build control panels, assemble conveyors, install motors, and build panel boards. Additionally, you will perform basic repetitive tasks and high-level assembly, including troubleshooting and repairing components.
- Complete mechanical and electrical assembly of units using hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret schematics, wire diagrams, and service manuals.
- Layout and build control panels including PLCs and drives.
- Assemble conveyors and install motors.
- Build panel boards and install wiring, electrical components, and panels.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of components.
- Assist with other facility tasks such as warehouse and packaging duties.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with computer software beyond Microsoft Office.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding new software programs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical components.
- Knowledge of gears, drives, pneumatic systems, and automation.
- Ability to build and install panels and hardware.

Work EnvironmentYou will work in a climate-controlled assembly area and warehouse, in a newer facility located off Easport Boulevard. The standard working hours are from 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch break. There is some flexibility with start times to accommodate childcare needs, similar to arrangements made with current associates.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
