Job Summary
Feeder/Packer position with interchange functions based on business needs. Day shift 6 a.m.–6 p.m.
Essential Job Functions / Duties Feeder- Feed a minimum of 4 machines, lifting product, pre-breaking them, and placing product into feed hopper.
- Feed and maintain 6 formers.
- Remove plastic from loads and discard tickets; hand tickets to the operator.
- Monitor quality, ensure cartons are straight, remove loose scrap, and sort as required by the operator.
- Maintain R.S.C. inventory and supply case packers with required R.S.C.’s.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Follow all safety requirements, including GMPs, PPEs, and HACCP & JSA regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Catch and maintain 6 lanes.
- Pull product from forming chutes at the count mark.
- Perform basic quality control to ensure bad product is removed and replaced with good product.
- Check product is properly glued and the correct number of products is packed into sleeves; complete quality check‑off sheets.
- After quality checks, place product in position, into a bag, then into a case and onto the conveyor.
- Assist operators with cleaning off glue tips.
- Relieve other packers for breaks and lunch and assist with labeling, repacking boxes, and keeping the area neat and clean.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Follow all safety requirements, including GMPs, PPEs, and HACCP & JSA regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Make boxes and label boxes.
- Fill glue containers for machines.
- Clean‑up work area.
- Check with operators or supervisor on additional tasks.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. - Experience:
Packaging experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Other qualifications: Must be dependable and a team player; ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures; ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in the work area; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment around machinery; basic mathematics (counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Working ConditionsSafety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel‑toed shoes are required. Task‑specific PPE may be required.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may continuously use hands and fingers to position, and arms to reach. The employee may frequently bend and move about the work area. The employee may occasionally remain in a stationary position, ascend/descend steps, push and pull, and communicate. The employee may occasionally move and position up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
