MANUFACTURING ENGINEER NEEDED - RICHMOND, VIRGINIA

A Leading Manufacturing Company in the Richmond, Virginia area needs a Manufacturing Engineer. A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who can drive manufacturing productivity & efficiency through analysis, design, implementation, and/or installation of tools, processes, and equipment.

This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering competitive compensation, bonus potential, good benefits, paid holidays, and paid vacation.

Responsibilities
  • Candidates hired into the position will rotate between projects and departments within the organization to gain exposure to various manufacturing processes and tools. Skills will be developed around: implementation of lean tools, ergonomic improvement, layout generation & PFEP, jig & fixture design, manufacturing process creation, and work instruction development.
  • Analyze and design manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and gathering input from operators, stakeholders, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provide manufacturing decision‑making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Assist with managing capital expenditures as assigned to include project identification, justification, and completion.
  • Deliver on productivity targets as outlined in the annual operating plan.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or another relevant technical field, from an accredited university is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of value stream mapping, problem solving, facilitation, and lean principles and tools.
  • Training with Solid Works or other layout and design software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Hands‑on mechanical skills through hobbyist or semi‑formal training.
