This position is primarily 2nd Shift (3p-11p)

Title: General Technician - Shipping & Receiving

Reports to: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Summary: Responsible for the safety, cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, baler room, truck docks, bander and associated grounds by supplying support to Press Operation, Baler Room and overall plant support. Ensures top quality material, accurately labeled and carefully shipped is received by the customer.

Job Responsibilities
  • Load and unload goods and products using lift and clamp trucks for storage and or shipment.
  • Read work orders and follow instructions to move materials; load and unload trailers, prepare goods, move rolls, pallets and other materials; ensure correct loading onto pallets and secure loads to prevent shifting or damage.
  • Provide support to Press Operation: set up roll stock for job changes, maintain OHSE compliance, ensure packing material is available, keep supplies stocked, move WIP to hold area, label and sample pallets, and inspect loads for appearance and proper documentation.
  • Prepare finished goods according to company standards before storage or shipment; apply corner boards, wooden tops, trays; wrap pallets per customer specifications; apply labels, prepare Bills of Lading; scan pallets; prioritize shipments; sign paperwork.
  • Ensure correct set‑up and removal of product/material following instructions and procedures.
  • Remove waste bins and maintain clean vision standards; supply correct roll stock to press room; store partial rolls; store NCM in proper area following quality instructions.
  • Maintain Baler Room support: remove bales, weigh, load onto truck; receive pallets and Gaylord corrugated; load full Gaylords and cores; keep the room clean; double stack trailers; monitor compactor pressure; replace baler wire when needed.
  • Follow all company policies for EHS, PPE, hazardous materials and waste handling; wear uniform and use safety equipment; keep work areas safe and clean; perform cleaning tasks as required.
  • Operate forklift vehicles safely: support press operation, keep certification, move loads, check labels, place loads in designated areas, use scanner, remove waste and cores, weigh and truck recyclables; ensure battery charging and paperwork; report accidents.
  • Participate as a member of Shipping & Receiving: interact respectfully, assist coworkers, be dependable in attendance and punctuality, and perform additional tasks as requested by department or shift leads.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or GED); 1‑3 years related production experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Very good mechanical and physical ability.
  • Forklift certification and maintain safety training for operation of all company equipment.
  • Good mathematical skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Physical Demands

The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required. This position may require prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, and crouching. Must be able to work in repetitive functions and in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week as needed.
