Responsibilities
- Follow company policies and procedures ensuring all cylinders received are recorded and visually inspected for any damage during shipping.
- Record cylinder location and store cylinders in pre‑makeready racks or boxes.
- Pull engravings for scheduled press runs to deliver the correct cylinders listed on setup sheets, logging rack number.
- Arrive at least one shift in advance to prepare for production.
- Follow safety procedures for removing cylinders from shipping boxes or racks, placing engravings onto cylinder carts, and moving the correct cylinders to the staging area prior to installation on press.
- Complete paperwork to ensure the correct job number, cylinder number, unit number, and color for the particular job on press.
- Inspect engravings with a microscope upon return to determine if maintenance is required.
- Prepare engravings that need maintenance for shipping, or return them to proper rack locations if no maintenance is needed.
- Participate in all Pre‑make and INK team meetings and group discussions.
- Support all other production groups at all times.
- Maintain and follow all company policies and procedures for EHS, personal protection, and hazardous materials/waste handling.
- Assist Pre‑makeready and INK on 2nd and 3rd shift production adherence.
- Deliver shift reporting to department leads and Technical Manager.
- Fill in as required to improve throughput as requested by Pre‑makeready or INK department leads.
- Maintain training and knowledge required to produce P‑Carts and INK.
- Be proficient in both departments.
- Act as backup for shift lead in Pre‑makeready and INK department.
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
