Job Title: Generator Material Inspector



Job Description

Summary:

Perform inspections of mechanical and electrical components in Turbine Generators, emphasizing the Generator Rotating Field.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Inspect machined work pieces to ensure conformance to specification.
  • Interpret parts drawings and follow written inspection instructions, quality requirements and customer specifications.
  • Measure dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points using precision instruments (micrometer, caliper, dial indicator).
  • Locate reference points on parts and measure dimensions such as angle, arc, and radii using aids (surface plate, angle plates, parallel bars, gauge blocks, V-blocks, and other precision instruments).
  • Complete all necessary inspection forms and reports.
  • Perform as assigned other similar or related duties.
  • Document surface deposits, embedded foreign material, galling, high metal, pitting, deformation, and mechanical damage such as impact marks.
  • Inspect for rubbing, foreign object damage, corrosion, cracking, tears, discoloration, delamination, heat‑affected areas, heavy grooving, and wear.
  • Take photos of any abnormal findings and report defects observed.
  • Perform parts kitting and delivery to the point of use.
  • Perform quantity count against bill of material.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Ability to work 1st Shift (7:00a.m. – 3:30p.m.).
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as required.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, safety shoes).
Qualifications / Experience
  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 24 months of experience in manufacturing or a quality role.
  • Experience with technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions; only U.S. Persons (citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals) may apply.
  • Proof of U.S. work authorization will be required prior to employment.

Pay Transparency

Early‑career hires: $22.00 – $26.25 per hour (C‑Level role). Progressive levels: B‑Level $26.75 – $34.25 per hour, A‑Level $35.25 – $40.50 per hour. Geographic differential of 110%–130% of salary may apply in certain areas.
