Machine Operator

Job Summary

A Decorating Machine operator that maintains a clean and safe work environment, ensures product quality, and supports cup and lid printing operations.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Visually check quality of print against approved samples (light/dark, off‑center, faded/missing print, shorts, flash, strings, grease).
• Maintain product quality within your zone/machine(s).
• Load product into lid and cup printers.
• Sort through start‑up, pack parts and verify correct count.
• Stir and add ink.
• Clean blankets and plates.
• Change and trim blankets.
• Start/stop printers.
• Clean color heads, rollers and fountains.
• Set up color heads for the next print run.
• Assist decorating technicians with change‑overs.
• Check plates, inks, labels and color standard against traveler.
• Clear unload in‑feed and restacker jams.
• Maintain appropriate speed assigned to each printer.
• Follow all GMPs, Food Safety, and CCPs.
• Maintain paperwork such as audits, downtime logs, etc.
• Apply printed label to box.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or department manager.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

• High School diploma, equivalent or on‑the‑job training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with whole numbers.
• Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions; deal with problems.
