Job Summary
The Manufacturing Machine Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of production equipment and machinery in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures machines operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Clean, sanitize, and maintain manufacturing equipment, tools, and work areas
- Remove debris, grease, and build‑up from machinery using appropriate cleaning agents and tools
- Disassemble and reassemble machine parts safely for deep cleaning when required
- Follow cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Identify and report equipment issues, wear, or damage to maintenance or supervisors
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Maintain records of cleaning activities and completed tasks
- Assist production or maintenance teams when needed
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience in manufacturing, janitorial, or industrial cleaning is a plus
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Basic understanding of machinery and cleaning techniques
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical stamina; ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in industrial environments
- Exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and industrial cleaning chemicals
- Requires use of PPE such as gloves, goggles, and safety shoes
- May involve lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces
- Shifts may include nights, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in hot, cold, or humid conditions
