Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator in our Carpet Cushion Department, at our Richmond Plant location (2400 Richmond Highway, Richmond VA 23234). This position will work on a team at the Carpet Cushion Production Line. This position will operate and monitor industrial machinery to produce high-quality carpet padding according to specifications.
This position is Monday through Friday, 1st Shift (6:00am to 2:30pm). Additionally, in order to meet production needs, all employees in our manufacturing industry are expected to work more than 8-hour shifts and on weekends (if needed).
Essential Functions- Set up, operate, and monitor industrial carpet cushion line machinery and equipment
- Adjust machine settings to meet product specifications and production requirements
- Inspect finished products for quality and report defects or inconsistencies
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
- Maintain accurate production records and logs
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Meet production targets and deadlines
- Communicate issues or equipment malfunctions to team and Supervisor
- Must successfully be forklift certified.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience operating an industrial machine in a manufacturing, chemical, or production environment
- Must successfully pass Carpenter Co.'s Forklift Certification process
