Position Summary
The Forklift Operator I is primarily responsible for safely operating basic powered material handling equipment—including sit‑down/stand‑up forklifts and electric pallet jacks—for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This position ensures product safety, quality, legality, and integrity.
Shift, Pay & LocationShift: Monday‑Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM | Pay: $18.50 per hour |
Location:
Richmond, VA
- Loading and unloading pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, by hand or equipment
- Safely loading, unloading, transporting, and stacking materials using forklifts
- Sorting and building products onto pallets to ensure compliance with customer expectations
- Using machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets
- Performing quality control to ensure transaction accuracy
- Conducting daily equipment inspections for maintenance
- Maintaining accurate storage locations through daily cycle counts and routine inventory tasks
- Performing other distribution work functions as needed due to business volume and demand
- Adhering to strict OSHA safety rules
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to operate powered basic material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks and sit‑down/stand‑up forklifts
- Must meet all PPE requirements
- Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and coordination
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to read, write, and interpret information
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift
- Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions
- Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment
- Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds
