Forklift Operator

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator I is primarily responsible for safely operating basic powered material handling equipment—including sit‑down/stand‑up forklifts and electric pallet jacks—for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This position ensures product safety, quality, legality, and integrity.

Shift: Monday‑Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM | Pay: $18.50 per hour |

Location:

Richmond, VA

• Loading and unloading pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, by hand or equipment
• Safely loading, unloading, transporting, and stacking materials using forklifts
• Sorting and building products onto pallets to ensure compliance with customer expectations
• Using machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets
• Performing quality control to ensure transaction accuracy
• Conducting daily equipment inspections for maintenance
• Maintaining accurate storage locations through daily cycle counts and routine inventory tasks
• Performing other distribution work functions as needed due to business volume and demand
• Adhering to strict OSHA safety rules
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to operate powered basic material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks and sit‑down/stand‑up forklifts
• Must meet all PPE requirements
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and coordination
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Customer‑service driven
• Strong team player

• Ability to follow policies and procedures
• Ability to read, write, and interpret information
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects
• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift
• Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions
• Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment
• Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds
