Material Handler – Join Our Dynamic Team in Richmond, VA! Are you ready to play a crucial role in supporting a high-performing production environment? We're seeking a dedicated Material Handler to ensure our packaging lines run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line Replenishment:
Keep production lines fully supplied by consistently delivering components, maximizing workflow and minimizing downtime. - Inventory Control:
Accurately count, verify, and document component quantities before distributing to lines and cross-check any returned stock. - Equipment Operation:
Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual hoists after completing required shift checklists. - Line Clearance:
Clear leftover materials from completed orders, preparing the lines for the next product lot. - Data Documentation:
Enter information accurately and legibly in batch production records, logbooks, and clean-up sheets. - Hazardous Materials:
Properly handle, transfer, and label hazardous waste in line with EPA regulations, especially for aerosol lines. - Workplace Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized workspace by actively applying 5S and pharmaceutical plant practices.
Role Requirements:
- Certification:
Must have and maintain a valid, active forklift operator certification. - Compliance Knowledge:
Ability to strictly follow cGMP, OSHA, and site-specific safety protocols. - Technical
Skills:
Basic computer literacy required; familiarity with SAP or warehouse management systems (WMS) highly preferred. - Physical Stamina:
Capable of standing, sitting, bending, and pulling for 8- to 12-hour shifts, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
