Machine Operator - Nights Extruder 1.5"Full-Time Regular – COGS – Roanoke, VA, USA

Salary Range: $17.30 to $31.05 per hour
Responsibilities- Read the set‑up sheet and use the file name to determine the product, print specifications, machine adjustments, material requirements, and/or special customer requirements.
- Set up, run, and continuously monitor the 1 ½" extrusion line for all standard products.
- Observe, measure, and inspect products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with set‑up sheet specifications.
- Apply print to cables using jet printers as required.
- Correctly complete all documentation specific to this job function.
- Clean equipment to prevent contamination.
- Recognize defects and problems during production, assist in solving them or notify the supervisor, and complete non‑conformity paperwork.
- Conduct all activities following safety procedures and guidelines.

- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED and six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: Mechanical aptitude for operating machinery in a production environment; proficiency with tools and measuring devices; ability to read and follow instructions; understanding of quality procedures; math and handwriting skills; ability to complete documentation accurately; teamwork with minimal supervision; strong attention to detail and problem‑solving.
- Working Conditions: Must stand, walk, and lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly; adequate vision for reading and computer use, including color vision; adequate hearing for alarm detection and coworker communication; moderate noise level; exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Appropriate safety devices are provided. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.

- Shift Differential:
Eligible night and weekend shifts receive an additional 10% shift differential. - Additional Compensation:
Base salary within the posted range; individual compensation determined by qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs. New hires typically hired below the range midpoint; eligible positions may receive shift differentials, skill premiums, or other compensation. - Schedule:
6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., Monday–Thursday with some schedule flexibility and overtime available. 44 hours per week.
