Position Title: Tester Technician
Wage: $22.00-$25.00/hour
Shift: 1st;
Hours: 6am-3:30pmWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Tester Technician to join a team in Richmond, IL. The Tester Technician will be responsible for performing functional and quality tests on electrical equipment and assemblies to ensure products meet industry standards and specifications. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical and mechanical tests on equipment, components, and assemblies according to established procedures
  • Record and document test results accurately in logs or digital systems
  • Troubleshoot and identify defects or failures in products during testing
  • Perform repetitive testing tasks, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the day
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve product issues
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration is up‑to‑date
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage
  • Assist with inventory and handling of test materials as needed
  • Perform multiple tests per day, typically ranging from 10-30 tests, depending on complexity
  • May involve overhead work up to 10-20% of the day, such as testing mounted equipment or assemblies above shoulder height
  • Lift equipment or assemblies up to 50 pounds, occasionally higher with assistance
  • Frequent standing, bending, and walking around the shop floor
  • Work in an indoor manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels
  • Team‑oriented environment with occasional independent testing tasks
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, testing equipment, and safety procedures
  • Comfortable using hand tools, meters, gauges, and testing devices
  • Ability to read schematics, work instructions, and test procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Maximum lift of 50 pounds regularly; heavier items with assistance
  • Occasional overhead work and reaching above shoulder level
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and occasional crouching/kneeling
  • Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Standard manufacturing hours, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed
  • Some flexibility may be required based on production demands
