Material Support Team Member
The Material Support Team Member plays a vital role in supporting the coil building process by managing receiving operations, material flow, and inventory accuracy. You will serve as a direct link between vendors and production, ensuring materials are received, processed, and delivered to the production line safely, efficiently, and on time. Working closely with multiple departments, you help maintain continuous production by upholding safety, quality, and inventory control standards while contributing to ongoing process improvement.
Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, ensuring accuracy against documentation and promptly completing receiving transactions.
- Transport, store, and replenish materials accurately and efficiently between warehouse and production locations.
- Support inventory movement between facilities and internal locations to maintain consistent material availability for production.
- Maintain inventory storage areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with material staging for production operations so that the production line receives the correct materials at the right time.
- Follow established inventory control and material handling procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in identifying inventory discrepancies, investigate potential causes, and report issues promptly to leadership.
- Support annual physical inventory counts and participate in inventory improvement initiatives.
- Participate in cycle counting activities for assigned product lines to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of product-specific inventory and material handling procedures.
- Support inventory replenishment activities to ensure that materials are available when needed for production.
- Help implement process changes that improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and overall efficiency.
- Communicate inventory and material concerns proactively to leadership and collaborate on solutions.
- Assist production teams as needed to support continuous workflow and minimize downtime.
- Support material transfers between facilities when required, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor in all interactions with internal teams, vendors, and logistics partners.
- Use Excel and other basic office software to perform data entry, track inventory, and support logistics and reporting activities.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and operational standards while operating forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing processes, logistics support, and inventory control.
- Forklift certification with multiple years of hands-on experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including at least 3+ years in shipping and receiving functions.
- At least 3+ years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) management.
- Experience with vendor management and coordination of incoming materials.
- Ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs and perform heavy lifting as required for material handling.
- Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and logistics support in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Proficiency using Excel, Word, and Outlook for data entry, tracking, and communication.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Positive and ambitious attitude with the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
- Good driving record to support material transfers or related driving responsibilities.

Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing environments and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Background in inspection, receiving inspection, and quality checks on incoming materials.
- Experience with hoists and other material handling equipment.
- Exposure to continuous improvement practices within production or logistics operations.
- Experience in mechanical or mechanical assembly environments, including working with assemblies and packaging.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics related to materials or assemblies.
- Experience with assembly line operations, sealing, and packaging processes.
- Customer service or customer support experience, particularly in logistics or material support contexts.
- Experience with Excel data entry for inventory, logistics, and reporting.
- Prior experience with shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination across multiple locations.
- Strong supervision awareness and ability to follow direction while working independently when required.
