Manufacturing Team Lead

Are you an experienced electro-mechanical assembler ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a Manufacturing Team Lead who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to play a key role in building high-quality equipment from the ground up.

What You'll Do

As the Manufacturing Team Lead, you'll be responsible for the complete mechanical and electrical assembly of custom equipment while supporting the day-to-day success of the production floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the complete electro-mechanical assembly of equipment from start to finish.
  • Build and wire control panels, including PLCs and drives (programming not required).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Assemble conveyors, install motors, panel boards, and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues throughout the build process.
  • Support multiple production lines and provide technical guidance when challenges arise.
  • Perform quality inspections and ensure all products meet established specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Train and mentor team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and production software to document builds and track production activities.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and improvement opportunities with leadership.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Experience building, wiring, and assembling industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel, and learning new software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building control panels and working with PLC-based equipment.
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or lead technician experience.
  • Knowledge of quality control and inspection procedures.
  • Experience supporting process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with production line operation and workflow management.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
