Operations Manager
Old Dominion Brush Company LLC (ODB) | Richmond, Virginia
ODB is hiring an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, materials management, shipping/receiving, machine utilization, quality standards, plant capacity, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. This role owns manufacturing and shipping quality for whole goods and parts, develops strategic plans to hit productivity and efficiency targets, and oversees safety, equipment maintenance, and staffing — directly or through supervisory reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct production schedules, staffing, and materials/inventory management
- Coordinate with Marketing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production Planning on schedules, supplier relationships, and product improvements
- Lead supervisors and manufacturing engineers to meet productivity, efficiency, and Lean goals
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Manage performance evaluations, coaching, and personnel actions for direct reports
- Analyze operational results against budget/forecast
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7–10 years of manufacturing/supervisory experience, preferably heavy industrial
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean techniques, and OSHA regulations
- Proficiency in Solid Works; ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions:
Split between manufacturing floor and office; frequent walking; flexibility for overtime/weekends; occasional travel.

Pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $170,000 to $183,600.
