Prospect Blue is partnering with a well-established, stable, and growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced Production Planner/Buyer to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing production scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

This individual will play a critical role in keeping production running smoothly by ensuring materials, schedules, and resources are aligned to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to maximize efficiency while balancing capacity, priorities, and customer deadlines.
  • Coordinate with production team leads to execute daily and long-term manufacturing plans.
  • Purchase raw materials for both stock and customer-specific production requirements.
  • Manage production orders, work orders, and the master production schedule within the ERP system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory transactions to support production needs.
  • Process customer orders, change orders, and expedite requests as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for production schedules and delivery inquiries from customers, vendors, and internal sales teams.
  • Participate in production meetings and collaborate on process improvements and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information, and production data remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support order entry and other production planning activities as business needs require.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of production planning and scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment (10+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, work order management, Bills of Materials (BOMs), production routing, and inventory control.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials to support manufacturing operations.
  • ERP system experience with strong data entry accuracy required.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or similar supply chain certifications are highly preferred. The company supports employees pursuing and maintaining professional certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working within an ERP system is required.
